- Hybrid flexibility - 4 days onsite, 1 day from home
- Based in our Sydney or Melbourne Office
- Technical Excellence: Deliver technically excellent full-stack code across multiple features and systems with expert-level proficiency.
- System Architecture: Support the architecture of scalable solutions considering performance, security, and long-term maintainability with pragmatic trade-offs.
- Quality & Standards: Maintain the standard for code quality and technical practices, establish team coding standards, resolve critical production issues, and improve processes through experimentation.
- Mentorship & Culture: Mentor engineers within your team, conduct thorough code reviews that elevate team capability, facilitate technical discussions, and actively shape team technical culture.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with Product and Design on feature delivery, advocate for technical improvements, and contribute to cross-team architectural discussions to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies. You may also wear temporary leadership hats to progress your career forward.
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. Out of Home media or advertising technology experience is highly desirable.
- Backend Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern programming language-ideally Golang, TypeScript, or Node.js.
- Modern Architecture: Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system design, with hands on experience in event-driven architectures and serverless patterns (SQS, SNS, EventBridge).
- Database & Cloud Fluency: Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, IaC, and SQL/NoSQL databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, Opensearch, DSQL).
- Leadership Capabilities: A proven track record of mentoring and developing other engineers, with the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions balancing quality and delivery.
- Communication Fluency: Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
