This is a 6 to 7 month contract role.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Epic Beacon Build Consultant to support the design, build, testing, implementation, and optimization of Epic Beacon oncology workflows. This consultant will partner closely with oncology clinicians, pharmacists, nursing teams, operational leaders, and Epic application teams to translate complex clinical requirements into effective and scalable Epic solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain Epic Beacon treatment plans, therapy plans, protocols, and oncology workflows.
Build and optimize chemotherapy, immunotherapy, infusion, supportive care, and oncology medication workflows.
Configure treatment plan components including medications, orders, phases, cycles, dosing, scheduling, and clinical documentation.
Partner with oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and validate clinical workflows.
Ensure Beacon build aligns with organizational standards, clinical best practices, medication safety requirements, and Epic recommendations.
Perform application build, unit testing, integrated testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
Troubleshoot Beacon build issues and identify solutions for complex oncology workflows.
Collaborate with Epic Willow, Ambulatory, Inpatient, Orders, Cadence, Prelude, and other integrated application teams.
Support data conversion, system upgrades, enhancement requests, go-live preparation, command center activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
Develop and maintain build documentation, testing scripts, workflow documentation, and change-control materials.
Provide guidance and mentorship to client analysts and operational stakeholders regarding Epic Beacon functionality and best practices.
Qualifications
Epic Beacon certification or accreditation required.
Strong hands-on Epic Beacon build experience within complex oncology environments.
Experience building and maintaining oncology treatment plans and therapy plans.
Strong understanding of chemotherapy, infusion, medication management, and oncology clinical workflows.
Experience with Epic implementation, optimization, upgrade, or enterprise deployment projects.
Knowledge of Beacon integrations with Epic Willow and other clinical applications.
Experience with testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
Hourly range: $95-$105/hr. The hourly range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
