The Data Layer Engineer supports mission-critical objectives under the referenced work order by designing, implementing, and optimizing data transformation workflows for geospatial and non-geospatial datasets. This role manages ETL processes, data structuring, and schema management with expertise in ESRI geospatial data layers and cloud-based geospatial services. - The Data Layer Engineer is responsible for designing and optimizing ETL processes, data structuring, and schema management.
- The position requires working with ESRI geospatial data layers, ArcGIS Enterprise, and cloud-based geospatial services.
- Engineers will implement data governance frameworks and metadata/data cataloging solutions.
- The role includes ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies. Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field; or
- A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in data governance. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Developing and managing data governance frameworks.
- Implementing metadata and data cataloging solutions.
- Ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies.
- Working with tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, or Azure Purview.
- Managing ESRI geospatial data layers and Kubernetes-hosted geospatial applications.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in ETL processes, data structuring, and schema management.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage).
- Strong understanding of Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, and Azure Purview.
- Ability to manage ESRI geospatial data layers and cloud-based geospatial services. Education
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) (Preferred, Not Required)
- DAMA Certified Data Governance Professional (DGSP) (Preferred, Not Required)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (Preferred, Not Required) Clearance Requirement
- An active TS/SCI security clearance is required for on-site duty location.
