Software Engineering - Software Engineer V

Location: Menlo Park, California (Remote)

COMPENSATION: $99 - $109 HOURLY

Role Overview

This role will help sustain and extend a strategic, open-source datacenter benchmark suite's benchmarking, automation, CI/CD, and reporting infrastructure. The position involves contributing to active initiatives such as containerization and performance optimization. The work directly shapes hardware design and procurement decisions for large-scale datacenters.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute standard benchmarks across all generations of servers.
• Gather, analyze, and report benchmark results with performance, micro-architecture, and power data.
• Develop and maintain the open-source installation flow and both internal and public CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests, and continuously improve test coverage.
• Develop and maintain automation and result-reporting pipelines.
• Drive containerization to reduce the operational burden for internal and external users.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field is required.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of industry experience in software development is required.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting.
• Proficiency with Linux command-line tooling, including performance-analysis and function-profile tracing tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis, SQL, and data visualization.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git tooling, and container development (such as Docker or Kubernetes).
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and CPU architecture.
• Strong coding, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and fluency with AI-assisted coding tools.
• Intermediate-to-expert knowledge of computer systems and CPU architecture, or prior industry experience in a relevant area.
• Proficiency in C/C++.
• Cross-team collaboration skills.
