Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is part of the Corporate Accounting Team providing daily support to the operations business. The role is responsible for preparing financial activities, including producing monthly financial statements and account reconciliations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements for operations and joint ventures
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and assist with quarterly reconciliations
- Prepares, reviews, and posts journal entries including both routine and non-routine entries
- Perform miscellaneous projects as assigned
- Reinforce company policies and procedures to division
- Work with VP of Finance regarding division accounting issues and month-end transactions
- Provide JD Edwards and InsightSoftware (Hubble) support for divisions as needed
- Assist internal audit in annual division audits, including occasional travel once per year
- Provide internal and external auditor reconciliations, schedules, and reports at their request
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Experience:
- Accounting Internship or up to two years experience preferred
Software/Technology Knowledge:
- Proficient in Excel
- JD Edwards and InsightSoftware is a plus
Specific Competencies:
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop accounting knowledge
- Strong verbal skills for interaction with office and division personnel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
