Job description

Role: EHS / Safety Programme Lead

Location: New Albany, Ohio – Onsite

Type: W2 Contract Only – Long Term

Purpose: Owns safety for a mobile, 24x7 workforce in live Hyperscaler data centers. Makes sure every site and shift meets the client's Vendor EHS requirements before work starts and every day after.

What you will do

  • Write and own the EHS management plan and the SOW-specific EHS action plan; get them accepted by client EHS.
  • Build and lead the safety officer team: dedicated site safety officers, plus roving officers for smaller sites, across day, swing and night shifts. The client's rule is one dedicated EHS supervisor at 20+ workers, plus one per additional 60.
  • Choose and manage EHS staffing agencies for surge and new-site cover.
  • Set training standards: OSHA 10 for all technicians, OSHA 30 for leads, site inductions, live environment and lockout/tagout awareness, NFPA 70E where relevant.
  • Run incident management: reporting to the client within 72 hours (serious incidents within 8 hours), investigations, corrective actions, lessons learned.
  • Track leading and lagging indicators (toolbox talks, inspections, near misses, recordables) and report them weekly to Delivery and the client.
  • Check PPE specs and kit against client site rules; sign off each site and team move as safe to start.

What you bring

  • 10+ years in construction, data center or industrial safety; 5+ years leading safety programmes across multiple sites.
  • Hyperscaler data center build-out or mission-critical facility experience strongly preferred.
  • CSP or ASP required; OSHA 500/510 (authorised trainer) preferred; CHST a plus.
  • Experience managing safety teams and agencies for a fast-growing, mobile workforce.
  • Firm and credible: willing to stop work, and able to work closely with client EHS teams.
  • Willing to travel extensively between sites.

How we will measure success (first 12 months)

  • Zero recordable incidents; every near miss reported and closed.
  • 100% of staff certified before their first unsupervised shift.
  • Every site and shift staffed with safety officers in line with the client's rule.
  • No client stop-work orders caused by our teams.
