Finance Excellence, Automation and AI Lead

Ampcontrol is seeking a Finance Excellence, Automation & AI Lead to drive the transformation of our Finance function through process excellence, automation, AI adoption and digital capability uplift.

This is a unique 12-month fixed-term opportunity to partner with Finance, Digital and business leaders to reshape how Finance operates across the organisation. You'll lead the simplification, standardisation and digitisation of key finance processes while developing the roadmap for automation, AI and system optimisation that will enable a more scalable, data-driven and efficient Finance function.

This position can be based in either Sydney or Tomago. Sydney-based employees will be required to travel occasionally to our Head Office in Tomago.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the Finance process excellence roadmap, aligning transformation priorities with Ampcontrol's growth strategy and future operating model.
• Review, redesign and standardise end-to-end finance processes to improve efficiency, governance and scalability.
• Build and deliver a prioritised portfolio of automation, workflow, reporting and reconciliation initiatives with measurable benefits.
• Develop the Finance AI roadmap and implement practical, secure and well-governed use cases that improve productivity, insight and decision-making.
• Own the optimisation of D365 Finance & Operations and related data, reporting, analytics and workflow capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional change from concept through implementation, adoption and handover, building Finance capability through coaching and training.
• Partner with Finance, Digital, Risk and business leaders, providing clear updates on priorities, progress, benefits and emerging opportunities.

What We're Looking For Essential

• Degree qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation, process improvement, automation or digital finance initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end finance processes and the ability to redesign them using process mapping, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement methods.
• Experience developing business cases, transformation roadmaps, governance frameworks and benefits realisation plans.
• Working knowledge of automation, low-code and AI-enabled solutions, enterprise finance systems, reporting and analytics platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, change management and communication skills, with the ability to turn complex requirements into practical solutions.

Highly Regarded

• Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, Lean Six Sigma, BPM, Agile, Project Management or Change Management.
• Experience with D365 Finance & Operations, Power BI, Power Platform, Microsoft 365 Copilot, advanced Excel and ERP optimisation.
• Experience delivering automation, AI or cross-functional digital transformation in engineering, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, power, resources or other project-based environments.
