Job Description

HunterNet Career Connections are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join their team as an Information Technology (IT) Trainee, working with our host Lockheed Martin Australia in Williamtown. This is an exciting opportunity to join the internal IT Support team at Lockheed Martin, contributing to the day-to-day operations of the business while completing a Certificate III in Information Technology. This traineeship provides hands on experience in a professional IT environment, enabling you to develop practical technical skills while working alongside experienced IT professionals.

Lockheed Martin's innovative technologies have been contributing to the security of Australia for over 70 years, with their diverse programs forming a critical backbone of Australia's current and future defence capabilities.


We are looking for a trainee who has:



  • Great interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to work as a team member in a professional environment

  • Ability to problem solve, show drive and initiative in their work

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks which have competing demands

  • Demonstrate passion for IT with a genuine interest in computers, emerging technologies, and continuous learning

  • Enthusiastic about developing a career in IT and committed to building technical knowledge and practical skills

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance

  • Basic to intermediate experience and knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)

  • Driver's license and own transport

  • Minimum year 11 school leaver

  • Be an Australian Citizen or have permanent residency
