Mechanical Design Engineers Gas Steam turbine /Manufacturing Support Engineer
Location: Newcastle (Hybrid - ~3 days on site)
Contract: 6-12 months initially (long-term potential)
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Rate: Competitive / top rates available (to support co-location)
About the Role
We're looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to support a major Gas turbine or Steam turbine manufacturing programme based in Newcastle.
You'll join a collaborative and supportive team where your technical expertise will directly contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality turbine components and assemblies.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role, working at the heart of manufacturing engineering
You will be responsible for interpreting engineering requirements, analysing turbine data, and delivering practical technical solutions that support manufacturing, inspection, and assembly activities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Apply your turbine engineering knowledge to identify and mitigate technical risks within manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality teams, and suppliers to resolve technical queries.
- Support manufacturing readiness, reviewing requirements and addressing production issues with practical solutions.
- Conduct and document technical investigations, concessions, lessons learned, and continuous improvement actions.
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance manufacturing performance, quality, and delivery reliability.
What You'll bring
- Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, applied to practical environment.
- Experience working with gas turbine or steam turbines.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX (essential)
- Experience in first-of-type manufacturing projects with aerospace-level standards and documentation (highly desirable
The engineer must be eligible to work in the UK and successful candidates will undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
