Job Description

Future Power Systems Analyst Location: Belfast (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home) Shape the Future of Northern Ireland's Energy System An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Future Power Systems Analysts to join a leading organisation responsible for transforming Northern Ireland's electricity network as it moves towards a cleaner, more sustainable future. Working at the forefront of innovation, you'll contribute to major initiatives supporting decarbonisation, renewable integration and the development of future electricity system operations. This is an excellent opportunity for analytical professionals with experience in the energy sector, utilities or other regulated industries who are passionate about technology, data and system transformation. The Role You'll play a key role in supporting strategic projects focused on future power system development, innovation and operational transformation. Working alongside technical specialists, regulators and industry stakeholders, you'll help analyse complex challenges, develop future solutions and support the implementation of new technologies and operating models. Responsibilities include: Supporting strategic programmes focused on future electricity system transformation. Analysing complex operational and technical data to support decision-making. Evaluating emerging technologies and their impact on power systems. Assisting with innovation projects involving renewable energy, flexibility services and energy storage. Producing technical reports, presentations and analytical outputs. Working collaboratively with internal teams, external stakeholders and industry partners. Supporting regulatory, compliance and governance activities. Contributing to long-term system planning and operational improvements. What We're Looking For You'll ideally have: A degree in STEM, Engineering, Economics, Business or a related discipline. At least 3 years' experience within energy, utilities or another technical or regulated environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience using Python, R and/or advanced Excel for data analysis. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. The ability to interpret complex information and present clear recommendations. Desirable experience includes: Electricity or wider energy sector experience. Renewable energy or decarbonisation projects. Power BI or Tableau. Regulatory or compliance exposure. Knowledge of electricity markets or power systems. What's on Offer Competitive salary.
