Job Description

Project Manager (Mechanical Bias) – Yorkshire Region Our client is one of the UK's leading contractors within the renewable energy sector, with offices throughout the UK and a significant growth of 20% each year, they can offer a stable and exciting future career. About the Role<br />We are seeking a mechanically biased Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a large-scale decarbonisation projects at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. You will take full ownership of the mechanical scope, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. NB. the project is well underway and running smoothly and has about 1 year remaining. You would be looking after modifications, BMS upgrades, Pump replacements etc. and there is a mechanical site manager on site. Following this project there is more work in the Yorkshire/North East region. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of mechanically focused energy projects from design through to commissioning
  • Manage programmes, budgets, risks, and resources across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Oversee mechanical design coordination, installation, and commissioning
  • Drive construction delivery, ensuring HSE compliance and industry best practice
  • Act as primary client interface, providing clear reporting on progress and risk
  • Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet programme and budget
  • Identify efficiencies to improve delivery and contract performance About You
  • Proven track record delivering mechanical (building services) or M&amp;E projects (energy/infrastructure preferred)
  • Relevant mechanical qualification
  • Strong mechanical bias (e.g. HVAC, district heating, pipework, energy centres)
  • Experience leading site teams, subcontractors, and engineering functions
  • Good commercial and programme management awareness
  • Familiar with PM methodologies (PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile) and project tools
