Job Description

At Aceve, we back the builders of society. Founded in the Nordics and growing across Europe, we build digital tools for the people who construct and maintain our physical world - giving electricians, plumbers, and contractors back their time, clarity, and confidence. With over 900 employees across 8 countries, leading brands in 7 customer markets, and more than €100M in revenue, we're on an ambitious growth journey, and we're just getting started. We're an AI-first company, and we work with grit, openness, and a good dose of joy.

About the role:
Craftnote needs someone who cares about the code and the people writing it. As Tech Lead / Dev Lead, you’ll lead a squad of 3-4 engineers, work side by side with Product, and report to the Development Manager. You’ll own the technical direction of Craftnote’s systems, along with the squad’s delivery and growth. And you’ll stay in the code. Some of the path ahead will be foggy, and that’s fine. You’ll have the freedom to lead, make real decisions and see the impact of them.

What will you do:
You’ll shape how Craftnote’s systems are designed, how the squad delivers and how the people on it grow. AI is changing how we build, and you’ll help steer that too.

  • Own system design for an event-driven, component-based architecture built to scale, stay reliable and stay maintainable. Document decisions with ADRs and run architecture work together with the team, from whiteboards to shared diagrams.

  • Plan and run delivery with Product. Raise the squad’s velocity without cutting corners on quality, and use delivery and quality metrics to drive improvement.

  • Run 1:1s, give honest feedback, support career development and team health, and welcome new people into the team.

  • Mentor and upskill engineers. Build a culture of ownership where everyone can defend the trade-offs of what they ship.

  • Look after reliability and quality: CI/CD, test automation (using AI to raise quality), observability, incident response, blameless post-mortems, and security triage and hardening.

  • Lead agentic and AI-assisted development workflows with solid quality guardrails, and apply AI/ML methods to business and engineering problems.

  • Lead cross-organizational initiatives and keep product, business and group stakeholders in the loop, in plain language.

We believe you have:

  • A solid track record of building and shipping production software (usually 9+ years), including time leading a team and growing the people in it.

  • A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Deep full-stack experience across backend, web, mobile and analytics.

  • Experience with asynchronous messaging and event-driven integration, NoSQL and relational data modelling, and data modelling and ETL pipelines (e.g. BigQuery).

  • Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (GCP, Azure or AWS) and containerization.

  • Fluent German and English, written and spoken, because you’ll work with German-speaking colleagues and customers.

  • Experience with agile delivery frameworks, and comfort coaching a team through trade-offs when the answer isn’t obvious.

Bonus Points For:

  • Node.js / TypeScript

  • Terraform / Pulumi
