Job Description

Summary:

The Electronics Verification Engineer is responsible for validating and qualifying electronic hardware from prototype through production. On a day-to-day basis, this role involves hands-on board bring-up and bench testing using lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, etc.), executing validation plans against design requirements, troubleshooting circuit-level failures, performing PCB rework, and capturing/analyzing test data. The engineer writes and maintains test procedures, documents result in clear lab reports, tracks issues to resolution with cross-functional teams, and supports NPI milestones (EVT/DVT/PVT). This is a lab-heavy role that balances structured test execution with real-time debug and root-cause analysis to ensure hardware meets performance, reliability, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Track the execution of deployment tasks, including implementation support, turn-up readiness, and validation of network changes.
  • Support network deployment activities for data center and/or backbone networking environments.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to reduce risk, increase consistency, and improve delivery timelines.
  • Leverage automation tools and scripting to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of automation workflows, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure deployments align with technical requirements and timelines.
  • Maintain clear documentation of deployment activities, issues encountered, and remediation steps.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in electronics test, validation, or hardware quality engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong fundamentals in analog and digital circuits; able to read schematics, review PCB layout, and perform board bring-up.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting, failure analysis, and PCB rework; proficient soldering of fine-pitch components.
  • Proficient with lab instrumentation: oscilloscope, DMM, function generator, power supplies, electronic loads, LCR meter (plus protocol/debug tools as applicable).
  • Ability to create and execute validation plans (test matrix/DVP&R), define pass/fail criteria, and trace tests to requirements/specifications.
  • Experience designing and executing manual and/or automated tests; strong test data capture, organization, and analysis.
  • Clear written and verbal communication: lab reports, test summaries, issue tracking.

Typical Day-to-Day in the Role

  • Experience with NPI phases (EVT/DVT/PVT), fixture design, and design-for-test concepts.
  • Python-based test automation, data analysis, and plotting.
  • PCB schematic/layout familiarity (Altium/Cadence/KiCad/Eagle).
  • Use of LLM based tools to expedite processes.
  • Reliability/environmental testing exposure (thermal, vibration/shock, humidity, ESD).
  • DOE/statistics experience and strong presentation of results.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 2+ years experience in electronics test, validation, or hardware quality engineering (or equivalent) shipping products to consumers experience
  • Hands on rework skills (sodering-putting out and taking out components)
  • Proficient with lab instrumentation: oscilloscope, DMM, function generator, power supplies, electronic loads, LCR meter (plus protocol/debug tools as applicable Best practices of testing and verification, data analysis

Nice-to-have Skills:

  • Knowing how a board is designed, familiar with reliability tests, familiar with product development cycles
  • Use of LLM based tools to expedite processes.
  • Experience with NPI phases (EVT/DVT/PVT), fixture design, and design-for-test concepts.
