Rust Engineer
Location: Plano, Texas (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Rust Engineer to create, maintain, support, and improve complex embedded platforms. The ideal candidate will apply their knowledge in a fast-paced and innovative environment. This role involves working on a virtual assistant stack and various backend services, including phone, navigation, and music functionalities for either cloud or embedded systems.
Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the full software development life cycle.
• Write maintainable, extensible, well-tested, and well-documented code in Rust.
• Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility in alignment with architectural guidelines.
• Continuously integrate and deliver software components into fully functional software systems.
• Take ownership of assigned work through completion, ensuring all acceptance criteria are met.
• Deliver assigned work within expected timelines and proactively communicate risks or blockers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Work closely with product owners to shape and deliver features.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge.

Required Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of software engineering experience.
Technical Skills:

• Experience writing clean, concise, tested, and maintainable code in Rust.
• Experience deploying Rust applications to production or providing support for Rust applications in production.
• Hands-on experience applying current best practices and principles in software development.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub or GitLab.
• Experience using Git.

• Ability to learn and apply new technologies and programming practices.
• Demonstrates problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with open-source contributions to libraries or products that have active users and a community.
