Night-Time Safety & Support
Night collection is a new extension of, and safety structure for it is being built deliberately rather than carried over unchanged from the daytime model. The following are the baseline protocols moderators will be trained on before their first overnight shift:
- Moderators always work in pairs for every overnight session; solo overnight home visits are not permitted.
- A check-in call or text with the on-call PM/safety contact is required at the start and end of every shift.
- A designated after-hours escalation contact is available throughout each overnight shift for device, participant, or safety issues.
- Participant homes are pre-screened by the Scheduling team for overnight suitability (lighting, parking, accessibility) before a night session is assigned.
- Moderators complete a night-specific safety orientation, covering situational awareness, well-lit parking and equipment staging, and emergency contact procedures, prior to their first shift.
