Small Boat Engineering Technician Instructor | San Diego, CA | On-site | $28.44 - $35.01/hour We are seeking an experienced instructor to join a leading organization dedicated to training naval personnel in critical small boat engineering systems. This role is vital for ensuring the operational readiness and expertise of future maritime forces. The Role • Conduct comprehensive classroom and hands-on training on small craft propulsion and auxiliary systems. • Train personnel on preventive and corrective maintenance procedures for Navy watercraft. • Equip trainees with the skills to operate and manage casualties of propulsion systems. • Perform operational checks and ensure the cleanliness and readiness of training vessels. • Adhere to strict safety and ethical standards in all training activities. What You'll Need • Six (6) years of Navy Engineman/Construction Mechanic/Electrician's Mate experience or equivalent civilian background. • Proficiency in marine propulsion, electrical, auxiliary, and control systems. • Ability to conduct both classroom instruction and practical, underway laboratory training. • Qualified as a Navy Second Class Swimmer or equivalent. • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials (US Citizenship required). • Willingness to work varied schedules and occasional overtime.
