Job Title: IT/OT Cybersecurity Project Manager

REMOTE WORK

12 MNS CONTRACT

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT/OT Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead cybersecurity projects across Information Technology (IT), Operational Technology (OT), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) environments.

The successful candidate will coordinate security assessments, remediation, and technology implementation while protecting operational reliability, availability, and safety. This role requires strong project management skills, familiarity with industrial control systems, and the ability to work with cybersecurity teams, engineers, plant operators, vendors, and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage IT/OT cybersecurity projects from initiation through planning, execution, testing, deployment, and closeout.

  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, milestones, and acceptance criteria.

  • Coordinate cybersecurity assessments of SCADA systems, industrial control systems (ICS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote terminal units (RTUs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and supporting networks.

  • Work with operations and engineering teams to schedule approved maintenance windows and minimize disruption to critical processes.

  • Ensure proposed security changes undergo appropriate technical review, testing, change control, and operational approval.

  • Maintain project risk registers, issue logs, dependencies, and mitigation plans; escalate concerns promptly.

  • Coordinate vendors, system integrators, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and accountability.

  • Support development of incident response procedures and tabletop exercises for IT/OT environments.

  • Track project progress and provide clear status reports, budget updates, and executive presentations.

  • Maintain project documentation, including requirements, architecture diagrams, test results, operating procedures, and handover materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • At least five years of experience managing technology or cybersecurity projects, including projects involving OT, ICS, or SCADA environments.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects in industrial, utility, manufacturing, energy, transportation, or other critical infrastructure settings.

  • Working knowledge of SCADA architectures, industrial networks, and the relationships among PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, historians, and control systems.

  • Understanding of OT cybersecurity practices, including segmentation, asset discovery, secure remote access, vulnerability management, and recovery planning.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and guidance such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-82, and ISA/IEC 62443.

  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, vendors, project risks, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Strong communication, documentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to translate technical security findings into clear project priorities and business impacts.
