What will you be doing in this role?
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist III (CLS III) functions with minimal direction from supervisory personnel. Responsibili¬ties include performing routine and technically complex laboratory tests and analyses requiring advanced cogni¬tive, manipulative and problem solving skills. The CLS III’s activities include operating and maintaining test equipment, monitoring and evaluating the quality of testing, verifying and reporting test results, and resolving technical and quality control problems. Additional duties include general and administrative support functions necessary for the routine operation of the laboratory. Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the developmental issues of the patient populations(s) being served.
Education Requirements:
- Baccalaureate Degree in a biological science, chemistry, medical technology, or related science.
- Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or limited license appropriate for the area of responsibility.
- Five (5) years of relevant clinical experience with at least one year in area of specialty.
- Frequent sitting and standing; occasional walking and bending; occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
- Frequent use of computer keyboards monitors and telephones.
- Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including telephones, beepers, fire alarms, mechanical failure alarms.
- Near visual acuity including color differentiation.
- Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients, and other customers.
