Senior Automation Engineer - Raleigh, NC – Local Candidates Only

Lead automation initiatives for infrastructure provisioning, application builds, and deployment activities.

Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks to ensure reliable and consistent deployments across environments.

Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to improve CI/CD workflows and software release processes.

Apply expertise in Linux, Ansible Tower/AWX, YAML, automation best practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Debug deployments, validate configurations, and improve release reliability.

Work with IT management to enhance continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.

Collaborate with architects, developers, deployment teams, and database administrators to automate operational tasks.

Participate in on-call support during evenings and weekends as required.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of experience automating Linux OS patching and software upgrades across multiple environments using Ansible or similar automation tools.

3+ years of hands-on experience with Git or Bitbucket, including branching, merging, configuration, and administration.

7+ years of experience automating build and deployment processes, including database changes, using Ansible or similar tools.

7+ years of experience developing automation scripts, operational utilities, and workflow scripts using Python, Bash, and Shell.

2+ years of experience building and packaging applications with Docker and managing containerized workloads using Kubernetes.

4+ years of experience in infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and environment management using Terraform and Ansible.

2+ years of hands-on experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, and Ansible.

Preferred Skills

2+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure and services.
