Android Platform Engineer

Role: Android Platform Engineer 
Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid)
Duration: 12–18 Months

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Android Platform Engineer with strong expertise in AOSP, Kotlin, Java, and C++. The ideal candidate will develop and debug Android platform components, improve platform stability, resolve framework-level issues, and support Android version upgrades across the full Android software stack.

Required Skills:
3+ years of Android Platform/Framework development experience
Strong hands-on experience with Android Open Source Project (AOSP)
Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and C++
Experience developing Android middleware and background services
Strong debugging skills for Android framework, native services, and vendor layers
Experience with AIDL/Binder IPC
Root cause analysis of platform issues (Boot failures, ANRs, Black Screen, etc.)
Knowledge of Android framework internals and system services

Preferred Skills:
Android Automotive OS (AAOS)
HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer)
CTS, VTS, ATS, STS compliance testing
Android graphics/display stack
GDB, LLDB, Perfetto, Systrace, Logcat
Soong, Make build systems
Experience working with SoC/Silicon vendors
