About the Role
Are you a recently qualified, proactive, process driven and analytical Tax Accountant looking for a foray from Practice into an industry role? Or simply looking for the next step to develop your experience?
My client is seeking a hands-on Tax Accountant to support the Tax Manager across UK Corporate Tax, VAT and transfer pricing initiatives.
The incumbent with be charged with ensuring compliance, processes optimisation, and supporting commercial business objectives.
Core Responsibilities
Corporate Tax
- You will be responsible for the preparation, review and submission of UK corporation tax computations and returns.
- You will have experience in preparing tax provisions, deferred tax calculations and any corresponding disclosures for statutory accounts.
- You will have exposure in supporting and managing HMRC enquiries: analytics, drafting responses and compiling information.
- Assist with additional corporate tax requirements such as uncertain tax positions and emerging regulations.
- Support VAT compliance activities, including VAT returns, audits and HMRC communications.
- Lend guidance on VAT transactions, routes to market and new business activities.
- Identify VAT risks and opportunities, escalating in needed.
- Provide tax input on transactions, restructurings, integrations and operational changes.
- Identify tax risks and opportunities by developing knowledge of the business.
- Support internal and external audits tax projects.
- Ensure accurate and complete tax data corresponding with internal controls and deadlines.
- Collaborate with accounting teams regarding tax balances and disclosures.
- Help with transfer pricing documentation and internal tax reporting (e.g. quarter-end and year-end).
- Lead opportunities for process improvement, automation, utilising systems and AI-enabled tools.
Essential
- Qualified or part-qualified tax professional (ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT or equivalent).
- Utilising technology and AI-enabled tools for insight and efficiency.
- Commercially aware and embracing innovation, including AI and automation.
- Good understanding of UK corporate tax, with some exposure to VAT.
- Preparing corporate tax computations and returns.
- Working knowledge with tax accounting, deferred tax and/or VAT compliance.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and advanced Excel reporting.
- Familiar with tax compliance or tools (e.g. ONESOURCE or NextGen).
- Broad exposure across UK corporate tax, VAT and in-house tax operations.
- Developing advisory skills and work on business-critical projects.
- Training and ongoing professional development.
- Experience within a large, complex global organisation with a global tax teams.
