Are you a technically minded engineer with excellent customer-facing skills? Do you enjoy demonstrating advanced manufacturing technology, delivering training, and helping customers get the very best from their equipment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join a market-leading engineering business.
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders by delivering technical demonstrations, training, and ongoing product support. This is a varied position that combines hands-on engineering, CNC programming, customer interaction, and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional machine and software demonstrations to prospective customers.
- Program and operate CNC machinery to produce customer-specific demonstrations and showcase equipment capabilities.
- Provide operator and programming training on a range of advanced manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare and maintain demonstration machinery and showroom facilities to a high standard.
- Deliver remote technical support, diagnosing and resolving customer operator and programming queries.
- Accurately document customer issues and technical support activities.
- Develop engaging demonstrations that highlight machine performance, productivity, and customer applications.
- Carry out time studies and provide productivity and process improvement recommendations.
- Support the sales team with technical expertise throughout the sales process.
- Assist with tooling and application support where required.
- Support internal training initiatives for colleagues and technical staff.
About You
- Proven experience programming CNC machinery is essential.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming (offline and/or conversational programming experience is advantageous).
- Experience working with advanced manufacturing or sheet metal processing equipment.
- Strong understanding of machine operation, manufacturing processes, and production techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Comfortable delivering training to customers with varying levels of experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical, operational, and programming issues both remotely and on-site.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Full UK driving licence.
