We re recruiting for an established international engineering business looking for an experienced Specification Sales Manager to develop its presence across the East Midlands and Home Counties.
This is a technical sales role focused on working with consulting engineers, design consultants, contractors, distributors and end users to influence specifications, develop project opportunities and grow sales across the region.
What you'll be doing

• Build relationships with consulting engineers and design consultants to influence specifications at an early stage
• Develop the business as a preferred Basis of Design across relevant projects
• Manage and grow existing customer accounts across the territory
• Identify and develop new project and customer opportunities
• Prepare technical proposals and quotations
• Present technical and commercial solutions to customers
• Work with contractors, distributors and end users throughout the project lifecycle
• Use value-based selling to demonstrate energy, performance and lifecycle benefits
• Manage territory sales targets, forecasts and pipeline
• Maintain accurate CRM records and market intelligence
• Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and trade shows

What we're looking for
The Specification Sales Manager will need proven technical sales experience within HVAC, building services or a related engineering market.
You should also have:

• Experience achieving sales targets across a defined territory
• Proven experience building relationships with consulting engineers or design consultants
• Experience influencing project specifications and developing opportunities before tender stage
• Strong new business and account development experience
• Confidence working with contractors, distributors and end users
• Experience using solution-based or value-based selling techniques
• Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems and products
• Ability to deliver technical presentations and proposals
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the region

A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification would be advantageous.
