Python Developer - Houston, TX (Locals only)

Job Summary

We are looking for a Data Support Analyst III / Reservoir Engineer – Python Developer to work with reservoir engineering teams to improve existing Python code, automate data processing, and build reliable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with reservoir engineers and analysts to understand their existing code and workflows.
• Refactor and improve Python code to make it reliable, maintainable, and production-ready.
• Use Databricks, PySpark, and SQL for data manipulation and automation.
• Integrate data solutions with Spotfire dashboards.
• Automate data quality checks and ETL processes.
• Maintain code using Git/GitHub, testing, documentation, and CI/CD practices.
• Follow data security and company standards.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Python development experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Databricks and Spotfire.
• Strong Python programming, data manipulation, and automation skills.
• Experience working with engineering or scientific teams to productionize existing code.
• Knowledge of unconventional reservoir engineering and oil and gas data.
• Experience with SQL, PySpark, ETL, Git/GitHub, and unit testing.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Azure cloud experience.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and performance optimization.

Top 3 Must-Have Skills:

1. Databricks and Spotfire experience (3+ years).
2. Experience productionizing existing code with engineering or scientific teams.
3. Unconventional reservoir engineering experience.

Important: Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Spring, TX.
