Job Description
The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) position is responsible for the design and implementation of automated tests, tools, and test environments for the Verity 340B platform.
Duties
  • Implement and maintain an environment and tools for automated testing.
  • Maintain documentation of test systems and environments.
  • Maximize test coverage of the most critical features of the system.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow a suite of automated regression tests to exercise RESTful web services and browser-based client-side functionality.
  • Generate large, complex data sets to use for testing.
  • Validate correctness of transactional data against documented business rules.
  • Collaborate with developers to define hooks needed in core code to facilitate automated testing.
  • Actively participate in the Scrum development process.
  • Document bugs in the tracking system.
  • Participate in the definition and clarification of business and product requirements.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and risks in a timely manner.
  • Be co-responsible for project success.
  • Contribute to improving Verity’s software development processes (version control, code reviews, unit testing, build/release, automation, etc.).
  • Promote software QA best practices.
  • Protect the confidentiality of sensitive and/or proprietary company and customer information, including HIPAA data.
  • Support and promote the Verity Solutions values through positive interactions with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.
Required Skills
  • Proficient in developing automated test systems for transactional web applications, including testing of RESTful web services and client-side presentation functionality.
  • Programming proficiency in a high-level language is required, as well as the ability to quickly learn new languages.
  • Familiarity with working in cloud environments.
  • Capable of understanding, analyzing, and programmatically generating complex test data sets.
  • Working experience with MongoDB and Golang is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with web application security best practices and security testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to be effective with minimal direction.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members in a Scrum-based environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and business processes.
  • High level of curiosity and critical thinking, with a strong desire to learn new concepts.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a major plus.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience developing automated test software.
  • Excellent communication skills
