Interim Senior HR Business Partner

Location: Sheffield - Hybrid

Salary: £85,000 - £90,000

About the Role

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leaders and management teams to deliver strategic and operational people solutions that support business objectives. You will bring strong commercial acumen, a pragmatic approach, and extensive HR business partnering experience to help drive performance, engagement, and organisational effectiveness.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing expert HR guidance and constructive challenge to support business performance and decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver people plans aligned to business priorities and organisational objectives.
  • Partner with specialist HR teams to design and implement people initiatives that enhance employee experience and support organisational goals.
  • Lead and support organisational change and transformation programmes, ensuring effective planning, stakeholder engagement, and successful delivery.
  • Use people data and insights to inform decision-making, identify trends, and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of key annual people processes, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and remuneration activities.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to understand challenges and proactively identify people-focused solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of HR strategy and priorities through insights gained from partnering with business leaders.
  • Lead HR projects and initiatives, driving continuous improvement across people practices and processes.
  • Coach and develop managers to build leadership capability and improve people management effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals, providing clear direction, support, and ongoing development opportunities.
  • Work closely with Employee Relations specialists to manage complex and high-risk people matters, providing guidance to senior stakeholders and ensuring appropriate outcomes.
  • Promote and role model organisational values, fostering an inclusive and high-performing culture.


About You

  • Significant HR Business Partnering experience within a complex, fast-paced environment, ideally within a Professional Services environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to align people strategies with business objectives.
  • Experience influencing and challenging senior stakeholders.
  • Proven experience leading organisational change and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong leadership capability, including experience managing and developing HR teams.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to use data and insights to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent) preferred


This is 12 month FTC in the first instance, a short notice to starting is acceptable and there is the possibility of the role extending or going perm.
