Our Industrial Control Tech Support Specialists actively and continuously work to improve company procedures and processes. There is no travel involved in this position - no visiting customer sites, overnight or weekend work. We work in a team environment serving customers by troubleshooting issues and answering technical pre sales questions received via phone and email. Questions may involve any product that Direct Automation sells from any product silo including PLCs, HMIs, communications devices, drives and motors, motion controllers, process and fluid power, power distribution and industrial components.
Responsibilities- Customer support / troubleshooting - provide solutions to customer issues received via phone and email; maintain internal database (Salesforce) of call information; conduct technical research, testing and re create customer issues using actual equipment and configurations to assist in troubleshooting.
- Training - attend team meetings and training sessions to learn new products; when not taking calls, may also train or re train on existing products to increase knowledge.
- Documentation - may create application notes, review product documentation and suggest updates for hard copy or online documentation as needed.

IIOT Sales and SupportAs a Technical IIOT Support Specialist you will assist in the Customer Care process and will be the liaison between the customer and supplier, building strong relationships within the industry as well as providing technical support.
Initial Focus- Providing data access for client applications (such as MES and SCADA).
- Big data analytics software via OPC and proprietary protocols (Rockwell, Omron, Siemens, etc.).
- IT protocols including MQTT, REST, ODBC and SNMP.
- Flow measurement export to common industry formats.
- Ability to sell and excellent communication skills (telephone engagement is essential).
- Knowledge of industrial automation.
- IIOT knowledge: OPC standard, IoT protocols.
- Ability to work well as part of a small team.
- Lead generation and development.
- Customer liaison with a focus on sales and support.
- Assist in the promotion and demonstration of connectivity platforms.
- Pre and post sale processes.
- Work collaboratively with other departments.
Success for this role will be measured in terms of new customer acquisition, customer retention, engagement and satisfaction. This is not a quota carry position.
Salary is open to negotiation based on experience and industry knowledge. As direct sellers, the role is generally office based with minimal travel required.
