IT Tester

Location: Merrifield, Virginia (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking an IT Tester to perform analysis, interpret results, and present recommendations on testing activities. This role involves coordinating and executing testing for basic to moderately complex systems during the System Integration Testing phase. The position requires participation in System Development Life Cycles using SAFe Agile methodologies and collaboration with developers, business partners, and other stakeholders to ensure business needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Create Test Plan documents utilizing established standards and templates.
• Perform analysis, interpret results, and present recommendations, potential alternatives, risks, and downstream impacts.
• Ensure clear and effective communication, including progress reports, test documentation, and defect reporting.
• Coordinate and perform testing of basic to moderately complex systems during the System Integration Testing phase.
• Create, update, and execute manual and automated test scripts.
• Solution and update basic automation test scripts and troubleshoot errors.
• Provide detailed documentation of defects and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with peers, developers, and business partners to ensure business needs are communicated and satisfied.
• Participate in project and product team meetings, contributing to goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

Experience: 2-5 years of experience in technology testing.

Technical Skills: Working knowledge of testing tools, various database types, and experience with Systems Development Life Cycles. Must have experience with Microsoft Word.

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB Foundation level certification (CTFL).
• ISTQB Advanced level certifications (Agile Testing, Test Analyst, Test Manager).
• Certification in Scaled Agile Framework (e.g., Leading SAFe, PO/PM).
