Senior Java Developer Hybrid
Location: Plano, TX or McLean, VA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our client's technology team in Plano, TX or McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot, designing and implementing REST APIs and microservices, and deploying scalable solutions in AWS environments.
This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who can contribute across application development, cloud technologies, automated software delivery, and production support within a highly regulated enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Develop scalable and secure RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Build and integrate cloud-native applications and services using AWS.
  • Develop solutions that are scalable, highly available, secure, and maintainable.
  • Work with UNIX/Linux environments for application development, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, deployment, and software delivery.
  • Apply automated testing and engineering best practices to improve software quality and delivery velocity.
  • Troubleshoot application, API, infrastructure, and production issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, product managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical standards, documentation, and engineering best practices.
  • Help modernize legacy applications and transition services toward cloud-native and microservices-based architectures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
  • Proven experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD and automated software delivery.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, and enterprise application architecture.
  • Experience with automated testing and modern software development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
  • Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka.
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise applications and high-availability systems.
