Quick Overview
Job Description
About Letaido
Letaido is an AI teammate for marketing teams. It isn’t a chatbot that answers questions. It’s an agent with its own workspace that does the work: pulls the data, builds the tool, writes the report, ships the page, then keeps it running on a schedule.
Ask it for a content gap analysis and it queries Ahrefs directly. Ask it to track competitor ads and it builds you an app for that and keeps it updated. It connects to the systems marketers already live in, including HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Google Ads, Search Console and Stripe, and it can stand up a public site or an internal dashboard without a developer.
It’s built inside Ahrefs. That gives it fifteen years of web crawling infrastructure, petabytes of first-party index data, and no investors setting the timeline. We’ve been profitable and independent for fifteen years, so we answer to our users rather than to a board.
The role
Software you operate yourself has settled conventions. A dashboard, a form, a table. Software that goes off and does the work for you doesn’t. What does it look like to hand over a task to something that will disappear for ten minutes, use twenty tools, make judgement calls along the way, and come back with a finished thing? How does someone see what it’s doing without reading a log? How do they trust it enough to leave it running, and stop it when they shouldn’t? What does a workspace look like when half the work in it wasn’t done by a person?
You’ll be the one working this out, and what you decide becomes the product.
This is a senior role that goes well beyond making screens. At Ahrefs we don’t have a conventional product manager layer, so our product designers take full ownership of their products and combine design, product management and leadership. On Letaido that ownership is wider than usual, because the surface is so new. You decide what ships, in what order, and what good looks like. Then you take it from the first sketch to the released thing and keep improving it.
This role gives you a load of autonomy, so the distance between your idea and a decision is one conversation. There’s no roadmap committee to win over and no design system to inherit. You’ll set the language the product speaks in.
This role is based out of one of our offices: Palo Alto (CA), Cambridge (MA), Singapore or Tokyo. You can be based in whichever one you have the legal right to work in, but this is an on-site role: we’re looking for someone who’ll be in the office with the team.
You’ll also be one of Letaido’s heaviest users. When something is wrong, the fastest fix is usually walking over to the people building it.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the design of Letaido end to end: the agent experience, the workspace it works in, and everything a customer touches.
- Shape the roadmap with the Head of Letaido, and with Marketing and Sales, who are heavy users of what we build.
- Work out the patterns for agentic work. Delegation, progress, interruption, review, trust, and handing results back to a person who then has to stand behind them.
- Research what people actually do with an AI teammate, not what they say they’d do. Go deep enough technically to know what’s possible and what isn’t.
- Sketch and prototype quickly so bad ideas die cheaply, then design detailed, high-fidelity interfaces and drive them all the way to release.
- Lead projects with engineers and data scientists, building, iterating and shipping, then owning the improvements and support that follow.
- Set the design language and hold the platform to it as the team and the product grow.
Requirements
- Experience designing interfaces and workflows for complex software products.
- Ability to manage projects from idea to launch, and to decide what ships without being told.
- Strong visual taste and design skills.
- Ability to create high-fidelity mockups with great attention to detail.
- Ability to create prototypes to validate product ideas.
- Ability to collect and analyse data from a wide variety of sources.
- Understanding of software architecture and development processes, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate product and design decisions effectively.
- Comfort designing without precedent. When there’s no established pattern to borrow, you get going anyway.
You’ll like it here if
- You’d rather own a product than work through a backlog.
- You’ve used AI tools enough to have real opinions about where they help and where they’re for show.
- You want your work in front of users in weeks rather than quarters.
- You want to be in a room with the team. It’s a small group doing early work, and that goes better in person.
What we offer
- Full ownership of the design of an early-stage product, with no PM layer between you and the decision
- A direct line to the Head of Letaido. Small team, few layers, quick decisions
- An unsolved design problem, backed by the data and infrastructure of a fifteen-year-old profitable company
- Daily use of the thing you’re designing, and a direct line to the people building it
- Annual company retreat (usually skiing)
- Conference and learning budget
- A properly equipped office, and lunch on us
Location: Palo Alto (CA), Cambridge (MA), Singapore or Tokyo. On-site.
Ahrefs does not engage with agencies or third party recruitment solutions for the roles we hire for. If at any point we need help, we'll let you know!
