Senior Software Engineer – Java / AWS

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Java, AWS, microservices, and modern cloud-based application development. The ideal candidate will be hands-on technically and capable of contributing to architecture, system design, performance optimization, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems.
• Build and enhance cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical strategy.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve application performance.
• Ensure code quality, security, scalability, and adherence to engineering best practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automation, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Identify and resolve technical risks and cross-team dependencies.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Java and object-oriented development experience.
• Strong AWS experience, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, API Gateway, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and X-Ray.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Aurora.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of system design, data structures, algorithms, and problem solving.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines; GitLab preferred.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with automated testing and unit testing.
• Understanding of application and cloud security best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Python, Node.js, Go, or similar languages.
• React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• AWS QuickSight.
• Docker and containerized applications.
• Experience with distributed and high-availability systems.
