Sales Executive - Financial Institutions

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Department: Sales
Reports to: Head of US Sales

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading media, events, and intelligence platform serving the asset management and wealth management industries. They are seeking a driven Sales Executive to join their growing New York team and help expand relationships with financial services firms across the US.

This is a mid-level individual contributor role focused on developing new business and growing existing client accounts across a suite of solutions, including events, advertising, sponsorships, content partnerships, and data-driven products. The ideal candidate is a proactive salesperson who enjoys building relationships, uncovering client needs, and delivering consultative solutions to senior decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development across a portfolio of media, events, sponsorship, content, and data solutions.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients within asset management, wealth management, ETFs, alternatives, and broader financial services sectors.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including Heads of Distribution, Marketing, Business Development, and Executive Leadership teams.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach through negotiation and close.
  • Identify client objectives and provide tailored commercial solutions that align with their marketing and growth strategies.
  • Expand existing client relationships through cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, forecasting, and activity tracking within the CRM.
  • Partner closely with internal teams across events, content, audience development, and client success to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
  • Represent the business at industry conferences, client meetings, and networking events.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of sales, business development, account management, or sponsorship sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience selling advertising, media, events, sponsorships, research, data, SaaS, or related solutions.
  • Strong prospecting and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders and develop consultative client relationships.
  • Highly organized with strong pipeline management and forecasting skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Preferred Background

  • Experience covering asset managers, wealth managers, fintechs, ETFs, alternatives, or capital markets clients.
  • Familiarity with financial services, investment management, or B2B financial media.
  • Experience selling to marketing, distribution, or business development teams.
  • Experience using HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms.
