EUC / VDI Solutions Architect (Omnissa Horizon)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced EUC / VDI Solutions Architect to design, deploy, and manage a production-ready Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMware Horizon) Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment on AWS. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Horizon architecture, AWS infrastructure, Windows image management, identity integration, and enterprise VDI deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy a production-ready Omnissa Horizon environment on AWS.
• Configure Horizon Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAG), and vCenter integration.
• Design highly available and scalable VDI architecture with disaster recovery considerations.
• Develop Windows golden image strategy, including base images, application layering, and persona management.
• Configure desktop pools using Instant Clone and Full Clone technologies.
• Integrate Horizon with Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Implement networking components, including VPCs, subnets, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, and Direct Connect.
• Configure monitoring and logging using CloudWatch, vROps, or equivalent tools.
• Produce High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, and operations teams.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Omnissa/VMware Horizon.

• Experience deploying Horizon on AWS (native EC2 or VMC on AWS).
• Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, SSO, and MFA integration.
• Strong networking knowledge:
  • VLANs
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • Load Balancers
  • Firewall Rules
• Experience with:
  • Omnissa App Volumes
  • Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM)
• Windows 10/11 Enterprise optimization.
• Windows Server administration.
• CIS/STIG hardening.
• Group Policy (GPO) management.

Preferred Skills

• Omnissa Horizon Cloud.
• AWS WorkSpaces.
• Terraform.
• CloudFormation.
• FedRAMP or StateRAMP environments.

Preferred Certifications

• Omnissa Certified Professional (VCP-DTM)
• AWS Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional)
