  • Identify non-compliances, defects, safety concerns, and improvement opportunities, providing clear recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Produce comprehensive audit reports, technical findings, and supporting documentation to a high professional standard.
  • Support project teams by providing technical guidance relating to HV networks, electrical infrastructure, and installation practices.
  • Engage with clients, designers, contractors, and operational teams to communicate findings and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and promote adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements.

About You You will have strong background working within the electrical power industry, with a good understanding of HV electrical systems and infrastructure as well as experience assessing and evaluating proposed and existing electrical installations against relevant standards and specifications. The following skills and attributes will set you up for success:

  • Strong technical report-writing skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Ability to identify technical risks, defects, and compliance issues and propose practical solutions.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project and client sites.

Desirable

  • Background in HV installation, commissioning, maintenance, or operational network activities.

  • Previous experience in a technical assurance, compliance, or auditing role.
  • Working towards, or a demonstrated desire to progress towards, an AP or SAP commissioning role.
  • Current or previous AP or SAP authorisation.
  • Knowledge of DNO, IDNO, ICP, or private network environments.
  • Experience reviewing protection systems, earthing arrangements, and network studies.
  • Familiarity with project delivery processes, design approval, and commissioning activities.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications such as HNC/HND, Degree, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.

Attributes

  • Highly organised and methodical, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A natural problem solver who takes a practical approach to resolving technical issues.
  • Customer-focused and professional in approach.
