Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Mossville, (Chillicothe) IL

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite 5 Days/Week

Worksite: Building AC

Work Auth: Any visa accepted(No H1 and NO Fake Profile)

Employment Type: Contract / Long-Term Assignment

Position Overview

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with strong C/C++ development experience, embedded systems knowledge, and exposure to Agentic Workflow Development. The selected candidate will work with a global Agile engineering team to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and enhance next-generation embedded software and service technologies.

The role involves close collaboration with architects, developers, and testers across the U.S. and India, with opportunities to work with leading-edge agentic software development frameworks and tools.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Relevant internships may be considered toward professional experience

  • Associate degree with 6+ years of relevant experience may be accepted

  • Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience may be accepted


Required Skills

  • Strong programming experience with C or C++

  • Hands-on experience with C++14

  • Experience with Embedded Software Development

  • Experience or knowledge of Agentic Workflow Development

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and component data sheets

  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software

  • Familiarity with embedded-system development technologies and tools

  • Exposure to technologies such as SQL and Visual Basic

  • Understanding of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements, functional specifications, development, testing, and delivery

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify issues and implement required system changes


Desired Technical Skills

  • Experience working in a Linux-based development environment

  • Experience with Git version control

  • Caterpillar Remote Service experience

  • Caterpillar machine and/or engine experience


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and evaluate embedded software and systems

  • Develop embedded device software from requirements through production and commercial deployment

  • Develop and enhance assigned software features

  • Perform feature testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and code reviews

  • Analyze existing systems and improve performance, efficiency, stability, and scalability

  • Participate in the development and testing of operating-system-level and related software components

  • Review project requirements and assist with estimating development effort, timelines, and costs

  • Work with database-related requirements, including logical and physical database descriptions when applicable

  • Participate in daily Agile standups

  • Collaborate closely with local architects and developers

  • Coordinate with global development teams located in the U.S. and India

  • Participate in both collaborative solution design and independent software development

  • Work with modern Agentic Software Development frameworks and tools

  • Contribute to next-generation service technologies designed to improve customer and dealer technician experiences
