The Role

• Operate heavy equipment to safely load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks.
• Drive hostlers to efficiently position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard.
• Utilize specialized equipment like top loaders, side loaders, and cranes for container stacking and movement.
• Conduct thorough equipment inspections to ensure operational safety and readiness.
• Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to manage daily logistics operations and task execution.
• Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is a mandatory requirement.
• Prior experience with heavy equipment operation in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• A strong commitment to safety, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and lift up to 50lbs.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays, based on union seniority.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
