About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer Vacuum Systems & Design with strong hands-on expertise in semiconductor equipment, machine-level systems architecture, embedded firmware, industrial automation, motion control, and robotics.

The ideal candidate will have 8 12+ years of experience working with complex semiconductor equipment and automation systems, with the ability to architect and integrate systems across mechanical, electrical, firmware, controls, and software domains.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead machine-level systems engineering and architecture for complex semiconductor equipment and automation systems.
  • Define and develop system-level architectures integrating mechanical, electrical, firmware, controls, and software components.
  • Translate system requirements into functional architectures, interfaces, specifications, and design solutions.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, controls, and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Support embedded control systems using C/C++, RTOS, and microcontrollers.
  • Develop, integrate, and troubleshoot C# applications for machine automation and industrial applications.
  • Design and integrate motion control systems and robotic automation.
  • Support system bring-up, integration, validation, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshoot complex machine-level hardware, firmware, controls, and software integration issues.
  • Develop and maintain system requirements, interface definitions, architecture documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Support machine controls and automation system development throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Work with industrial communication protocols, including SECS/GEM where applicable.
  • Perform system-level root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive solutions.
  • Support integration and validation of semiconductor equipment and automated material-handling systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance, reliability, manufacturability, and production readiness.
  • Provide technical leadership and support during system development, testing, qualification, and production launch activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.E./B.Tech/M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8 12+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor equipment, industrial automation, robotics, machine automation, or advanced manufacturing systems.
  • Strong experience in systems engineering and machine-level architecture.
  • Proven experience integrating mechanical, electrical, firmware, controls, and software systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with C/C++ embedded development.
  • Experience with RTOS and microcontrollers.
  • Strong experience with C# for machine automation or industrial applications.
  • Experience with motion control systems and industrial robotics.
  • Strong understanding of machine controls and industrial automation.
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment or semiconductor manufacturing automation.
  • Experience with system integration, troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
  • Experience with SECS/GEM and other industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience with EFEM (Equipment Front End Module) systems.
  • Experience with semiconductor wafer handling systems.
  • Experience with wafer sorters and load ports.
  • Experience with semiconductor robots and robotic wafer handling.
