Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design, GD&T, engineering drawings, tolerance analysis, and aerospace hardware development.
• The ideal candidate will support the complete product lifecycle, from concept and prototype through manufacturing and production, while partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, and Production Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and support mechanical components and assemblies
• Create and review engineering drawings using ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and ensure manufacturability
• Support prototype builds, product validation, and production releases
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Production Engineering teams
• Resolve design and manufacturing issues
• Participate in design reviews and engineering change activities
• Prepare engineering documentation and technical reports
• Ensure designs meet quality, cost, schedule, and performance objectives

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• 3+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience
• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies for manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T
• Experience creating and reviewing engineering drawings
• Hands-on experience with tolerance stack-up analysis
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
• Knowledge of machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, and assembly processes
• Experience collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams
• Proficiency with one or more of the following CAD tools:
• Siemens NX (Preferred)
• CATIA
• Creo
• SolidWorks

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aerospace, Space, Aviation, or Defense industry experience
• Experience supporting structural hardware or aerospace mechanisms
• Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
• Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECR)
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Prototype development, validation, and qualification testing
• Manufacturing process improvements
• High-volume or precision manufacturing experience
