Electrician/ Data Center Technician

Position Details:

Title: Electrician/ Data Center Technician_ 178570-1/ 178568-1/ 178569-1

Type (Contract, C2H): 6+ months (potential to convert to perm)

Location: Varenne (Quebec)-Onsite

Shift/Core Hours: 40 hours

Schedule Below:

• 12-hour shift. Rotation schedule. 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, etc. one week worker will work 36hours and next 48hours (Rotation) Shift will be 6am to pm or 6pm to 6am (Rotation)


• Schedule will be rotation, combination of day shift and night shift. First 12 weeks training (8-12 weeks training)


• Shifts will be 12 hours: 6 am - 6pm


• After 2 weeks, will rotate to night shifts (6pm - 6 am)


• Must be open to weekends on rotation


• Day shift and night shift rotation biweekly.

Compensation: $25-26/Hour

Day to day what are the responsibilities:

• Propose and implement cost-effective, sustainable operational improvements.


• Conduct detailed technical inspections to ensure equipment performance, health, and safety.


• Collaborate with global teams to maintain AWS data center reliability standards.


• Work on generators, inspections, checking oil fuel


• Preventative maintenance on monthly basis


• Familiar with Automatic switch transfer


• Monthly maintenance of Air handling units - understand how mode works, understand how air handling works, how it cools down equipment.


• Controlled air handling units

Must-have/key skills needed:

• 1 year of experience or master s degree in electrical/ engineering (open to recent grad)


• Knowledge of electrical systems (low and medium voltage) and mechanical systems (HVAC, cooling/ heating, medium voltage systems, ventilation, transfer switches, breakers, bus bars, and generators, control modules, PLCs program logic controller, relays, instrumentation concepts).


• i.e. Prior electrician / prior Data Center (plus)


• Preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance.


• Availability to participate in an on-call schedule for co-location roles (i.e., 2 buildings on the same site, within walking distance located in Varenne)


• Excellent attitude (patient, go getter mentality, flexible, ability to deal with ambiguity - assess leadership principles, i.e Working on holidays if scheduled


• Must be Bilingual in French

Pluses:

• Post Grad in electricity, electromechanics, or mechanics.


• Knowledge of power distribution and industrial cooling systems.


• Proficiency with computer tools related to maintenance and analysis.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced technical environment.


• Data Center experience strongly preferred


• CSA 462 (electrical safety) is a plus
