We’re partnering with a London-based tech platform embarking on a large-scale digital transformation . With discovery complete, the build phase is ready to launch. This is a high-impact contract role for a Lead Developer / Engineering Manager to guide technical delivery, shape application design, and lead a squad of developers.

You’ll be the technical expert within the team—balancing hands-on development with architectural leadership and mentoring. The stack includes Java or Node.js, and React , and you’ll be working closely with existing engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.

Experience/Understanding of Crypto/Blockchain - Highly desirable

Contract Snapshot

• Length : 4 months initially, with strong extension potential
• Location : London-based client; hybrid or remote flexibility

Responsibilities

• Lead a squad of developers through the delivery of core platform features
• Own the design and architecture of new application components
• Provide technical mentorship and hands-on support where needed
• Collaborate with internal tech teams to ensure seamless integration
• Champion best practices in code quality, performance, and security
• Balance strategic oversight with hands-on coding when appropriate

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Lead Developer or Engineering Manager
• Strong expertise in Java (preferred), with exposure to Node.js and React
• Comfortable leading squads and driving technical delivery
• Skilled in designing scalable, maintainable application architectures
• Available to start
