What Does an Average Day Look Like?Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex production incidents, leading major incident coordination and stakeholder communications when required. Investigate and resolve application, integration, and system issues across distributed platforms using log analysis, SQL, and troubleshooting tools. Support critical production operations, including batch processing, transaction validation, reconciliations, and controlled remediation activities. Monitor platform health and performance, leveraging observability tools to identify risks, improve monitoring coverage, and drive proactive issue resolution. Partner with Engineering, Infrastructure, Product, and vendor teams to strengthen platform reliability, resolve root causes, and reduce recurring incidents. Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimisation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring team members to uplift operational maturity.

You'll bring:
- Significant experience in Application Support, Production Support, SRE, or a similar role within a complex enterprise environment.
- Proven expertise in major incident management, root cause analysis, and driving permanent resolution of production issues.
- Strong technical skills across SQL, Linux/Unix, scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and observability tools.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and improving operational processes and system resilience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently across technical and business teams.
- Financial services, payments, or fintech experience, together with exposure to modern cloud native architectures, containers, and Infrastructure as Code, will be highly regarded.
