Job Title: Structural Engineer
Location: El Segundo, CA 90245
Duration: 4+ Month Contract

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to support the development of structural engineering analysis packages demonstrating compliance of tooling fixtures, assembly work stands, lifting jigs, and related production tooling used in an aerospace fabrication environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural analysis, stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and aerospace tooling or manufacturing structures. This role involves evaluating and analyzing metallic, non-metallic, and composite structural materials while supporting tooling design, fabrication, and production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform structural analysis using hand calculations and FEMAP/NASTRAN.

Develop structural engineering analysis packages and compliance documentation.

Prepare and review engineering analysis reports.

Present structural analysis findings and technical solutions to internal leadership and customer representatives.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex structural and manufacturing problems.

Evaluate engineering products for compliance with applicable standards, procedures, and specifications.

Conduct static and dynamic structural analyses for tooling fixtures and production structures.

Identify and mitigate safety risks in accordance with company, state, and government requirements.

Support the design of industrial tools, assembly structures, lifting jigs, composite dies, drill fixtures, machine attachments, and production equipment.

Develop conceptual and detailed designs using NX and CATIA.

Create fabrication drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.1 Y14.5 standards.

Required qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in a STEM discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field).

Experience performing structural analysis and stress analysis for simple to complex mechanical structures.

Proficiency with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods and tools.

Experience with FEMAP and NASTRAN.

Working knowledge of NX and/or CATIA.

Ability to create, read, interpret, and review engineering drawings and specifications.

Understanding of ASME Y14.5 and GD&T.

Experience supporting medium to large-scale tooling fabrication, production fabrication, manufacturing operations, composites, metallic structures, or coatings applications.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferably in California, or actively pursuing licensure.

Direct experience with tooling mechanics, tooling stress analysis, and tooling structural evaluation.

Experience designing tooling and fabrication solutions considering accessibility, mobility, manufacturability, performance, and cost requirements.

Work Environment:

This position supports engineering and manufacturing operations within an aerospace production environment and requires close collaboration with structural engineers, tooling engineers, manufacturing teams, and program leadership.
