• Contribute to reference architectures and ensure consistency across engineering teams.
• Support solution architects and delivery teams in applying approved standards.
2. Application Modernization Execution • Design modernization paths for legacy applications: rehost, replatform, refactor, retire. • Architect cloud‑native and hybrid solutions primarily on Azure (AKS, Functions, APIM, PaaS). • Work hands‑on with engineering teams during design, PoCs, and early build phases. • Guide workload decomposition, domain boundaries, service design, and modernization roadmaps.

Cloud Architecture & Platform Enablement • Build and evolve Azure landing zone components and cloud governance configurations. • Define infrastructure, integration, API, and data patterns for cloud adoption. • Support hybrid cloud integrations with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform where applicable. • Evaluate new cloud capabilities (AI, observability, DevSecOps, automation tools).
4. Application Portfolio Management & Rationalization • Perform architecture‑led assessments using frameworks such as TIME or 6R. • Identify consolidation, migration, and retirement opportunities to reduce redundancy. • Partner with ServiceNow APM/CMDB to ensure accurate application inventory and lifecycle data. • Develop architecture metrics and dashboards supporting modernization progress.
5. Technical Debt Analysis & Remediation Support • Maintain application‑level technical debt insights across the portfolio. • Partner with product teams to prioritize remediation aligned with risk, business value, and modernization sequencing. • Provide guidance on remediation strategies, patterns, and target-state architecture alignment.
6. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation Enablement • Contribute to IaC templates using Terraform, Bicep/ARM, or Pulumi. • Support CI/CD pipeline architecture using GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Jenkins. • Partner with DevOps teams to apply automation and configuration management practices (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
7. Security, Compliance & Optimization • Apply cloud security best practices and integrate IAM/RBAC, network security, and Key Vault usage into designs. • Ensure alignment with CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, and MTA security requirements. • Support cloud cost optimization efforts using Azure Advisor and FinOps guidelines.
8. Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Communication • Work closely with DevOps, Networking, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Finance, and Procurement teams. • Translate complex modernization concepts into clear, actionable guidance for business and technical stakeholders. • Participate in strategic planning, cloud strategy working sessions, and solution design workshops.
