- Design PLC/HMI control system architecture and control panels using Rockwell Automation components.
- Develop, configure, document, and maintain PLC and HMI programming for the extraction well control systems and their integration with the central treatment facility.
- Prepare control narratives, I/O documentation, panel design information, programming documentation, and other technical deliverables required to support design and implementation.
- Support or perform control panel fabrication and assembly when included in the final project scope.
- Install and integrate control system hardware and software, including field connections and communications between the extraction wells and central facility.
- Develop test plans and procedures for control system verification, functional testing, startup, and commissioning.
- Execute or support system testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and resolution of hardware, software, communications, and interface issues.
- Develop user guides and supporting operating documentation for the delivered control system software.
- Conduct initial training for customer personnel on the use and basic operation of the PLC/HMI software and interfaces.
- Maintain configuration control of software, design files, test records, and final project documentation.
- Coordinate hybrid work activities and travel to Paducah, Kentucky, for kickoff, commissioning, and other on-site activities required by the project.
- Demonstrated experience designing, programming, installing, testing, and commissioning industrial PLC/HMI control systems.
- Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation PLC and HMI hardware and programming software.
- Ability to develop reliable control logic, operator interfaces, alarming, interlocks, communications, and system integration functions.
- Experience developing control panel designs and supporting panel fabrication, assembly, or field installation.
- Ability to prepare clear control system documentation, test plans, user guides, and training materials.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC, HMI, controls communications, instrumentation, and field integration issues.
- Ability to work directly with customers and multidisciplinary project personnel throughout design and implementation.
- Ability and willingness to travel to the Paducah, Kentucky, project site for kickoff and commissioning activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Rockwell Automation ControlLogix or CompactLogix platforms, Studio 5000 Logix Designer, FactoryTalk View, PanelView, or comparable Rockwell Automation products.
- Experience designing or integrating control systems for extraction wells, pumping systems, groundwater remediation, wastewater treatment, or similar environmental systems.
- Experience with industrial networks, remote I/O, instrumentation interfaces, and communications between distributed field systems and a central facility.
- Experience supporting federal, DOE, nuclear, environmental remediation, or other highly regulated projects.
- Experience delivering customer training and supporting startup or commissioning in an operating facility environment.
Education and Experience
Relevant degree, technical education, controls training, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience in electrical controls, automation, instrumentation, systems integration, or a related discipline. Experience must demonstrate the ability to independently perform the PLC/HMI design, programming, testing, documentation, and commissioning responsibilities of the position.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
