Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Delivery Manager to join a high-profile government digital transformation programme focused on the continued evolution of a major citizen-facing mobile application.
Working within a multidisciplinary Agile team, you will be responsible for leading delivery across a complex product area, ensuring teams are empowered to deliver high-quality digital services through effective planning, collaboration and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who enjoys working closely with engineering teams, removing delivery obstacles, managing risks and driving outcomes rather than operating purely at a strategic level.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of complex digital products within an Agile environment.
Manage delivery plans, roadmaps and priorities across a multidisciplinary team.
Remove blockers and proactively resolve delivery risks and dependencies.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, User Researchers and Designers to ensure successful delivery.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies and promote continuous improvement.
Manage stakeholder expectations through regular communication and transparent reporting.
Ensure delivery aligns with user needs, business objectives and technical constraints.
Support iterative product development through rapid feedback loops and user-centred design principles.
Drive effective planning, forecasting and delivery governance.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Lead Delivery Manager delivering complex digital products.
Strong Agile delivery management experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary delivery teams.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience managing delivery roadmaps, risks, issues and dependencies.
A hands-on approach to delivery leadership with a focus on enabling teams to succeed.
Experience working closely with software engineering teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Technical Environment
Experience working within modern engineering environments including:
AWS
TypeScript
JavaScript
Python
API-driven architectures
Knowledge of Agile software development practices and iterative delivery is essential.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience delivering mobile applications for iOS and Android.
Understanding of mobile application architecture and scalable product design.
Knowledge of Kotlin and Swift.
Experience delivering consumer-facing digital products or large-scale digital platforms.
Familiarity with reusable component design and modern mobile development practices.

Team Structure
You will lead a multidisciplinary Agile team consisting of approximately:
1 Product Manager
1 User Researcher
1 Interaction Designer
6 Software Engineers
Working together, the team is responsible for delivering scalable, reusable digital capabilities that enhance the overall user experience across a growing mobile platform.
Working Environment
This role offers a predominantly remote working arrangement, with approximately monthly attendance required at the client's Whitechapel office. You'll work within an Agile environment that embraces iterative delivery, user-centred design and continuous feedback, collaborating with experienced digital professionals on a large-scale transformation programme.
Security Clearance
Candidates must be eligible to obtain BPSS clearance prior to commencing the assignment.
