Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect / Solutions Architect with 12+ years of IT and data experience to lead enterprise legacy-to-cloud data modernization and migration initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise modernizing SAS, Alteryx, and SQL-based data pipelines into Python/PySpark solutions, designing enterprise data models and semantic layers, and architecting solutions using Microsoft Fabric.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end legacy-to-cloud data migration and modernization strategies.
• Convert SAS, Alteryx, and SQL workflows into scalable Python/PySpark pipelines.
• Design enterprise-grade data models and semantic layers for analytics, reporting, and BI.
• Define data architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Collaborate with business, data engineering, and BI teams to translate legacy business logic into modern cloud-native solutions.
• Architect solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, OneLake, Data Pipelines, and Power BI integration.
• Conduct architecture reviews, identify technical risks, and develop migration roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams.
• Ensure data solutions meet governance, security, performance, scalability, and quality standards.
• Drive architecture decisions across large-scale enterprise modernization programs.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or solutions architecture.
• 5+ years working in a Data/Solutions Architect capacity.
• Proven experience leading legacy-to-cloud data migrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAS, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Strong expertise in enterprise data modeling and semantic layers.
• Experience with dimensional modeling, star schema, and snowflake schema.
• Mandatory: Microsoft Fabric experience, including:
  • Fabric Lakehouse
  • OneLake
  • Data Pipelines / Data Factory
  • Fabric Analytics
  • Power BI integration
• Strong understanding of cloud data platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with ETL/ELT architecture, pipeline orchestration, and performance optimization.
• Strong stakeholder management and architecture communication skills.
• Experience with enterprise-scale data modernization programs.

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data/AI certifications.
• Power BI experience.
• Data governance and metadata management experience.
• Experience with enterprise BI and reporting platforms.
