Electrical Design Building Services Engineer

ELECTRICAL DESIGN BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEER Salary: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 A well-established Building Services Engineering Consultancy is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing Cardiff office.

Projects will involve the application of practical and technical engineering skills within the built environment, working across both new build and refurbishment schemes.

Responsibilities Produce electrical building services designs from concept through to construction stage<br />Carry out feasibility studies and technical design calculations<br />Prepare detailed specifications, reports, drawings, and design documentation<br />Work across a variety of sectors including education, commercial, healthcare, residential, leisure, and public sector projects<br />Undertake site surveys, inspections, and condition assessments where required<br />Represent the consultancy at client and contractor meetings<br />Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines<br />Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry guidance<br />Contribute to sustainable and low carbon design solutions<br />Support and mentor junior engineers where applicable<br />Assist in design reviews and quality assurance processes<br />Maintain project documentation in line with company standards<br />Manage workload effectively across multiple concurrent projects<br />Assist in fee proposals, bids, and project resource planning<br />Support continuous improvement and innovation across design deliveryRequirements Electrical Building Services Engineering background (degree qualified or equivalent experience)<br />Experience within a consultancy or design environment is essential<br />Working towards or already engaged with a professional institution (IET / CEng pathway desirable)<br />Proficient in Microsoft Office<br />Experience with AutoCAD and Revit<br />Experience with Hevacomp / TAS calculation software<br />Understanding of BIM Level 2 delivery<br />Knowledge of Building Regulations, particularly Part L<br />Strong communication skills, both written and verbal<br />Ability to work independently and within a team environment<br />Strong problem-solving skills with a logical engineering approach<br />Good understanding of sustainable and low carbon design principles<br />Experience attending client meetings and producing technical reportsSalary &amp; Benefits Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)<br />Career development and progression opportunities<br />Support towards Chartership (CEng)<br />Involvement in a wide range of project sectors<br />Collaborative and supportive team environment
