Maintenance Engineer
Location: Romford, EssexHours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 4:30pmSalary: Competitive
The CompanyOur client is a well-established manufacturing business operating within the industrial production sector. With a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement, they are looking to add a skilled Maintenance Engineer to their engineering team at their Romford facility.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.
Please note: Applicants must have previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment and possess both mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults promptly to minimise downtime.
- Complete reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Support continuous improvement and reliability projects.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning and modification of production equipment.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience, including pumps, motors, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and associated machinery.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Experience working on automated production equipment.
- Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent.
Experience within industrial, chemical, FMCG or manufacturing environments.
