Focus: Full-Stack (Angular / NestJS / Postgres) with Infrastructure & Architecture Depth

Role Overview

We are seeking a Staff/Principal-level Software Engineer to own Raya''s architecture, infrastructure, deployment foundations, and technical direction.

You will make high-leverage engineering decisions that allow a small team to ship quickly while establishing the security, scalability, observability, and compliance foundations required for growth.

Responsibilities

Own overall system architecture and technical direction end to end.
Design and operate infrastructure, deployment processes, and CI/CD.
Build foundations for scalability, observability, and zero-downtime delivery.
Lead security and HIPAA-grade compliance practices for handling PHI.
Design data infrastructure that captures high-value data to support the product and AI/models.
Establish engineering standards and best practices.
Mentor engineers and increase overall team productivity.
Contribute regularly to the Angular / NestJS / Postgres full-stack environment.
Make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions appropriate for an early-stage company.

Required Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Angular, NestJS, and Postgres, or proven ability to ramp up quickly.
Typically 8+ years of senior engineering experience architecting and shipping production systems end to end.
Strong infrastructure/DevOps experience.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
Proven experience owning architecture and deployment for a production product at scale.
Strong technical judgment and ability to balance speed, scalability, reliability, and cost.
Ability to work effectively within a small, fast-moving engineering team.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

HIPAA experience.
SOC 2 experience.
Experience with other regulated-data environments.
Early-stage startup experience.
Data infrastructure experience.
