Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
This position is responsible for improving devices in terms of cost, manufacturability, and ease of clinical use. The Electrical Engineer will provide support to Manufacturing/Ops for process improvements and validation, and will be involved in the forefront of technology and innovation to bring ideas to fruition.
In this role they need to be doing all the documentation reviews for FDA.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test wireless, analog, digital, and/or power circuits for medical devices and test systems.
- Use best practices, regulatory guidance, and standards to design electronics that meet medical device safety requirements.
- Support verification and standards-based testing and documentation, including plan/protocol generation, testing, and reports.
- Select, implement, and/or evaluate off-the-shelf electrical components for their performance in medical device systems.
- Implement designs with an emphasis on manufacturability and high reliability.
- Support manufacturing in troubleshooting test systems and test instructions related to the assembly and testing of the medical device.
- Interpret electrical designs to effectively participate in engineering design reviews.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical engineering within the medical device industry.
- minimum of four years professional experience
- Experience with hardware and printed circuit boards (PCB).
- Competence in schematic design and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer.
- Ability to perform small PCB assembly tasks, including soldering.
- Knowledge of formal PCBA documentation (Schematics, PCB/PCBA fabrication drawings/documents).
- Experience ordering PCB and PCBAs through vendors.
- Proficiency in using standard laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
